The study further examines the nature of the various medical institutions and their impact on improving the standards of medical practice, and this development was not restricted to the Islamic West; rather, it has extended to exert a profound influence on medicine in the Christian West through the transmission of Islamic medical knowledge to Europe, particularly via translation movements and civilizational exchange. The study has focused on reviewing the various methods and practices of healing that were employed at that time, ranged from preventive, spiritual, dietary, and natural forms of healing to pharmacological, surgical, and psychological interventions, this embodies a vivid illustration of the Islamic medical conception of the human being as a holistic entity in which corporeal, psychic, and spiritual dimensions cannot be dissociated, with a special focus on herbal medicine as one of the basic components of medical treatment during the studied era.
