Abstract: Dans cet article, une nouvelle mappe de qualité basée sur une modification de la mappe de la variance de la dérivée de la phase est proposée. Comme cette mappe proposée fournit plus détails sur les variations locales de l’interférogramme notamment pour les franges et les bords, le déroulement de phase pourrait être plus précis et fiable. L’influence de telle mappe de qualité se manifeste substantiellement sur les régions de forte densité des résidus. Pour prouver l’efficacité de notre proposition, le test a été réalisé sur des données satellitaires réelles et la comparaison a été faite selon plusieurs métriques pertinentes.</description>

Abstract: Phase unwrapping is a key step in the interferogram processing chain. This process reconstructs the phase images to obtain a 3D presentation of the scanned surface called digital elevation model. From 80's to date, several phase unwrapping algorithms have been proposed whose performance differs from one algorithm to another. Some algorithms are fast or accurate and there are other approaches that try to attain a tradeoff between accuracy and processing time. This paper analyzes the performance of some pioneering methods in the phase unwrapping field. The chosen methods are implemented and tested for real inSAR data provided by ESA ERS-1, and compared according to several relevant criteria to assess the computation time and accuracy of each one.</description>

Abstract: In this paper, an accuracy improvement of the quality-guided phase unwrapping algorithm is proposed. Our proposal is based on a modified phase derivative variance which provides more details on local variations especially for important patterns such as fringes and edges, hence distorted regions may be re-unwrapped according to this new reliable PDV. The proposed improvement is not only effective on accuracy but also on time, the obtained results have shown that the running time with our proposal is less than that of a skillful optimization-based algorithm. To prove effectiveness, the experimental test is carried out on simulated and real data, and the comparison is made under several relevant criteria.</description>

Abstract: Phase unwrapping is a key step for interferometric synthetic aperture radar imaging. It is widely used for earth mapping and surface change detection. Several residue-immune phase unwrapping algorithms have been proposed; among them, we find branch-cut and quality-guided in the path-following category. Branch-cut methods are usually faster than the quality-guided techniques; however, the accuracy of their unwrapped phase images is lower. In this paper, a hybrid model which combines both algorithms is proposed in order to establish a satisfactory compromise between processing time and accuracy. In order to verify the usefulness of the proposed hybridization, it is tested on simulated and real inSAR data. The obtained results are compared with the two methods under several relevant metrics.</description>
