Abstract: This study aims at exploring cohesive devices in third year EFL students’ essays at&#xD;
Setif 2 University. A sample of 40 essays of third year students was taken for a&#xD;
corpus analysis. Findings revealed that lexical cohesion was the most employed one,&#xD;
followed by reference. Encountered errors in using cohesive devices caused a lack of&#xD;
cohesion in their writings. The most common errors were categorized into overuse of&#xD;
repetition of the same words, misuse of conjunctions, and inappropriate collocations.&#xD;
Pedagogical implications were provided for more insights about cohesion to be&#xD;
applied in writing classes.</description>

Abstract: The present study attempts to evaluate the integration of authentic videos in second year phonetic classes at Batna 2 University. It aims at exploring both teachers’ perceptions and students’ attitudes towards using authentic videos and the barriers against their implementation. For data collection, a teachers interview and a students questionnaire were employed. The study revealed teachers’ positive intentions and efforts, however their lack of training and the lack of technologies at the English department resulted the absence of using authentic videos for teaching phonetics. Also, Students showed positive attitudes and awareness towards authentic videos. Syllabus designers are invited to reconsider methods of teaching phonetics.</description>
