Abstract

This thesis aims to study the legal protection of the environment from electronic waste, in the light of the relevant international and regional legal texts, and also analyzes it under internal legislation, within a major endeavor related to the protection of the environment, human health and the prevention of the dangers of electronic waste, which can lead to significant and growing risks threatening the environment and human health, due to the high levels of electronic waste in the world, due to the increasing consumption of electrical and electronic equipment, as well as as the result of its treatment and improper disposal. On the other hand, e-waste has come to be seen as an important source of precious metals and raw materials, if treated in environmentally sound and safe ways, in light of the availability of national legislation and specialized institutions in an appropriate and effective manner.
