Abstract

The topic deals with the general situation in Tunisia during the nineteenth century. Our study aimed to identify the reform movement whose roots go back to the campaign of Napoleon Bonaparte, relying on the historical method in order to study these events, where we got to know the most important factors that contributed to the emergence of the movement internally and externally. It resulted in the emergence of a group of reformers in the political arena to reform the political, economic and social conditions, and Khair al-Din was on the scene of these events, trying to embody his reform ideas that he touched upon as the best path to knowing the conditions of kingdoms in various fields and aspects. key words : The 19th century, the reform movement, Khair El-Din bacha Al-Tunisi
